The Weight Band is headed to the area for their only New York show at Brooklyn Bowl on Friday, February 21st.

Continuing the legacy of Americana legends The Band, former members and new come together to pay tribute to the band’s hits, as well as original material. The Weight Band’s music bridges a gap from the past to the present. With a heavy nod to their roots-rock heritage, the group’s original work is a love song to their heroes. Evoking, the in-tune consciousness of a bygone area. They strike a delicate balance between honoring their roots and reinventing their own version of the ‘Woodstock Sound.’

Coming off an international tour, the group will be touring extensively in 2020 in support of their original album, World Gone Mad. Led by Jim Weider, former member of The Band and the Levon Helm Band, the group gives long time fans a taste of the magic that made The Band so popular. Weider, who replaced Robbie Robertson, performed with The Band from 1985-2000 as lead guitarist. The rest of band is comprised of Brian Mitchell (The Levon Helm Band), Michael Bram (Jason Mraz), Matt Zeiner (Dickey Betts Band), and Albert Rogers (The Jim Weider Band).

Standouts from World Gone Mad include a rousing cover of ‘The Deal,’ with the always incredible Jackie Greene on vocals and slide guitar. ‘You’re Never To Old To Rock N’ Roll,’ co-written by Levon Helm and Bob Dylan’s ‘Day of Locusts.’
