The Avett Brothers were welcomed to Washington DC by a stadium full of fans as they took the stage to open for Zach Brown on August 14th. The roots rockers played an energetic performance which filled the park early on, as they opened with “Satan Pulls the Strings”. Within their 13 song set they also played two covers, “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” by John Denver and a traditional hymn, “In The Garden”. They rounded it out with two huge fan favorites, “Kick Drum Heart” and “I and Love and You”. It was an incredible way to spend an evening in Nationals Park.
