Last Saturday, I was transported back in time to the 1990’s. Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms and the Spin Doctors were performing at Ovation Hall located inside the Ocean Casino in Atlantic City.
This triple bill is one of the best tickets you can get this summer, and there’s plenty of dates still left on this tour. The tour only just started on July 4th, & goes until September – that’s prime concert time!
You can expect to get 3+ hours of great music, band members sitting on each other’s sets, and a whole lot of energy. What I noticed was with all 3 bands, the music they all played was high energy – not too many slow songs. Of the three bands, Spin Doctors are the only band on the bill with a current release: “Face Full of Cake” came out in April, and is their first release in 12 years. I am glad to see them back on the road and touring.
Blues Traveler and Spin Doctors are old friends, and Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors have toured together, but this will mark the first time all three bands have toured together on the same bill, and hope it’s not the last. With so many music festivals to choose from these days, I wonder if John Popper ever thought about bringing the H.O.R.D.E. Festival back again? Hint, hint…
