On Monday night while the rain poured down, the City Parks Foundation Gala Concert and Dinner was held indoors at New York’s Terminal 5. With dinner, drinks, and the music of David Bowie, the annual gala raised money to help support all of the parks throughout New York City.

This year’s event honored Michael L. Reinert, who spoke elegantly about the beautification process the city has undergone in the last two decades, and the need to give livable parks to all of the neighborhoods throughout the boroughs.

With a backing band composed of David Bowie’s collaborators through the years, highlights included Rolling Stones singer Bernard Fowler and Catherine Russell’s duet on “Under Pressure”, and pretty much anything Earl Slick was allowed to play lead guitar on. The evening ended with all involved on stage to finish off as “Heroes”.
