CEG Presents and celebrity Chef Michael Psilakis have announced the Brooklyn Pig Roast series, a run of six events set to take place at The Hall at MP (470 Driggs Ave.), one of Williamsburg’s newest venues, conveniently located just three blocks from the Bedford Avenue L train stop. Owned and operated by Psilakis, 2-time Michelin starred chef and former host of TV shows like Food Network’s The Best Thing I Ever Ate and BBC America’s No Kitchen Required, The Hall at MP provides a unique combined culinary-and musical experience unlike any other venue in the area.

The Brooklyn Pig Roasts will feature a menu designed by Psilakis specifically for these events, including a choice of Korean Bo Ssam-style or Southern BBQ-style Roast Pig Platters served with creative side dishes like Kimchi and Bacon Fried Rice and Southern-Style Grits and Collard Greens. Along with the Pig Roast Platters, the special menu will include imaginative takes on restaurant staples, including BBQ Pulled Pork Brisket Hamburgers, Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese, Bo Ssam Sliders, as well as hand-selected paired whiskey and Belgian-style beer to go along with the food. In addition, each event will feature an early pre-concert Happy Hour with half-off draft beers and cocktails and other amazing drink specials.

Brooklyn Pig Roast Series:

Friday, April 22 – Black Tie Brass – (A Horn-Driven Jazz-Funk Dance Party): Founded in 2013 by Ryan McNulty, Black Tie Brass was conceived as a group of musicians with diverse musical backgrounds that feed off each others’ energy to create a rare, unique musical performance night after night. From singers to horns to percussion, Black Tie Brass has it all! “The seven-piece [Black Tie Brass] incorporates rock and hip-hop into its sound as well, creating a fresh chemistry that will keep you coming back for more.” – Queens Tribune

Friday, April 29 & Friday, May 13 – BroJo’s Full Moon Swamp Revue – (Foot-Stomping Jazzy Alligator Music): This brand new NOLA-flavored project features both David Mendelsohn (a.k.a. Brother Joscephus) and Dean Fransen, co-bandleaders of Brother Joscephus and the Love Revolution, along with other members of BroJo on bass, drums, and clarinet performing a selection of old timey southern-fried acoustic
stomps, barrelhouse hobo songs and traditional N’awlins shanties as well as some re-imagined BroJo originals as you’ve never heard them before!

Friday, May 6 – The Hoodoo Loungers – (A Rich Gumbo of N’awlins Sounds): The Hoodoo Loungers are a nine-piece East Coast-based band performing music inspired by the rhythms, sounds, history, and spirit of New Orleans. The band’s sound encompasses traditional New Orleans Jazz, Brass Band, classic R&B, and funk – a blend of original music and re-arranged classics. “A soulful crew who were able to lure even the old & infirm like myself out onto the dance floor” – Loudon Wainwright III

Friday, May 27 – Wood Wires & Whiskey – (Brooklyn Twang Meets Old-School Honky-Tonk): Wood Wires & Whiskey is a moniker these hard-working musicians use to step out of the “songwriter with band” mode and jame a little more. The sound is raw, twangy, greasy, guitar-oriented Americana. With frequent help from special guests, Wood Wires & Whiskey serve up their own spicy takes on both classic covers and original material.

Saturday, May 28 – Dirty Water Dogs – (Swamp Rock/Rollicking Zydeco, Blues, Cajun, and Funk): Dirty Water Dogs (named after the mystery morsels that are vended on street corners in their native NYC) are something of a roots rock supergroup. Being a hybrid of the swamp rock monsters Loup Garou and folk heroes 5 Chinese Brothers, the Dirty Water Dogs perform a unique mix of lively zydeco, Cajun, blues, funk, and heartfelt original tunes. With Neil Thomas on guitar/vocals, Skip Ward (Tony Trishka, Phoebe Snow, Roseanne Cash) on bass/vocals, and Bruce Martin (Tom Tom Club) on drums/percussion/vocals, Dirty Water Dogs are sure to d-d-d-do it!
