Firefly is one of the most magical music festivals in the US, and an absolute haven for music lovers in the tri-state area. Next week fans will make the annual pilgrimage to The Woodlands of Dover, Delaware for the festival which runs June 15-18.

The Woodlands are as magical as they sound, from lit up trees and hidden pathways to a hammock haven for much needed shade. The festival grounds are something to explore alongside all of the incredible artists playing the many stages throughout the grounds. Don’t get me wrong, you will get a walking workout for sure, and there may be a dust storm or two, so if you can get a cute face mask like that Snapchat tiger filter – bring one. Overall, Firefly is the perfect place to see your favorite bands, discover new ones, and make a ton of friends along the way.

This year’s lineup was curated by you, the music fans! So it’s no surprise that your days will be filled running from stage to stage, and it’s hard for us to just pick out of few bands that you must see…but if you’re overwhelmed and need some help creating your schedule, here are some bands that we can’t wait to see rock Firefly this year.

K. Flay

I’m excited to see K.Flay live, this badass rapper/producer has been taking the world by storm with her addictive, angsty, songs. Her raw power and diverse sound found her opening for artists including Snoop Dogg, Passion Pit and Theophilus London. After playing Firefly and several other festivals this summer, K.Flay will be supporting Imagine Dragons on their North American Arena tour which starts in September! We can’t wait to hear tracks off her latest album, Every Where Is Some Where, at Firefly next week! K.Flay will be performing on Thursday at 7:45PM on the Backyard Stage.

Maggie Rogers

You may know Maggie Rogers from melting Pharrell’s (and subsequently the rest of the world’s) heart with her song “Alaska”. Since, Maggie Rogers released several singles off of her debut album, Now That The Light Is Fading, and each stunning, enchanting song released further proved to the world that Maggie Rogers is in a league of her own. Rogers has been busy with sold-out world tours, playing what seems like every festival in existence this summer. Seriously. But her performance at Firefly should be nothing short of phenomenal and we can’t wait to see, and hear, for ourselves. Maggie Rogers performs on the Lawn Stage at 6:45 PM on Thursday.

Glass Animals

I can’t get enough of Glass Animals, they put on one hell of a live show, and on Thursday they are headlining the festival to give it the electrified kickoff it deserves. I’ve seen this band multiple times and I could go on tour with them and watch them perform the same songs every night and still be excited by their show. I especially can’t wait to see/hear them perform tracks off of their epic new album, How To Be A Human Being, mixed with my favorites from their debut Zaba. Don’t miss Glass Animals play the Backyard Stage at 10:45PM on Thursday.
