The Growlers brought their delightful Beach Goth party to the Central Park SummerStage on Saturday, and they totally rocked. The California band fronted by the charismatic Brooks Nielsen performed a terrific set that included titles from every album in their vast catalog.

“We’re here to play a few songs… and they’re all romantic love songs,” said Brooks at one point. And that’s exactly what they did. The Growlers carefully selected music from Hung At Heart, Hot Tropics, City Club, and Casual Acquaintances – to name a few of their releases – and treated the audience to an outstanding show. The night’s setlist included the following tunes:

Night Ride
Hiding Under Covers
Naked Kids
Dope on a Rope
One Million Lovers
Black Memories
