There’s no doubt people in the UK are passionate about their music. You can tell by the power and drive of some of our favorite bands who hail from there, and even more from music fans there. One way we catch some of our favorite new bands from the UK live every year is SXSW. It takes a lot for a new band or artist from another country to tour the US, with visas and clearing their gear, not many new bands can afford it. If you want to catch new artists live before they break in the US, SXSW every year is the best bet. One of our favorite venues there, The British Music Embassy is sponsored by the BBC and this fall, BBC Music Presents is bringing more new music to several cities four months before SXSW!

This week BBC Music Presents announced a US Tour featuring incredible artists Sundara Karma, Izzy Bizu and Spring King. The tour started in NYC and is heading to Philadelphia tonight before hitting Cleveland, Detroit and Chicago. The tour gives these brilliant new bands an early shot at winning over fans in the US, while winning you that “I saw them the first time they played in the US” moment you can hold over your friends’ heads forever when the artists are playing stadiums later.

Reading natives Sundara Karma pack a powerful punch for a young band. With upbeat, addictive instrumentals overlaid with catchy story-telling lyrics, this band is the perfect soundtrack for a night out dancing. Seeing Sundara Karma will get your dance (and vocal) workout in for the month.

London-based songstress Izzy Bizu will be filling your ears, heart and soul with nostalgic, feel-good jazz, funk, pop and soul. The 22-year-old goddess will move you with her songwriting and soaring vocals. Playing tracks from her debut album, A Moment of Madness, out now, you won’t want to miss this exceptional new talent.

Manchester megababes Spring King are also on the lineup to hit you with a heavy dose of dark, strikingly upbeat rock’n’roll. One of the breakout bands of this year’s (and the aforementioned) SXSW Music Festival, Spring King have toured with Wolf Alice, Courtney Barnett and Slaves. You need to see the energetic artistry of lead singer, songwriter and drummer Tarek Musa playing tracks off of their debut album, Tell Me If You Like To, out now!

BBC Music Presents isn’t done there, over the course of the next year the BBC will deliver four new music tours over the East and West Coast to introduce you to some of your favorite new bands from the UK. We can’t wait to see this epic show in Philadelphia tonight at The Foundry! Make sure you get tickets to this epic tour in a city near you.
